Aucilla Friday 6/21

Post by jslorenz3 »

First time out to Aucilla today. Had a little trouble finding the ramp, but it was more uncertainty than anything else. Was nervous as heck to get up on plane, so we idled around all day. Worked a lot of shoreline and saw a lot of fish...

Water temp in the morning in the river was right around 77 deg. By 2:30 when we were leaving, it had risen to 83. Threw almost everything in the bag, but topwater seemed to be the key. Had about 10 big blowups on the topwaters, but only one hookup and it came off shortly after I hooked it. Did manage one 26" redfish, caught by my buddy from home.

A few minutes later, I had a solid thump on my topwater, and immediately thought I was on a big red. Turned out to be a big 22" trout.

Saw some rain on the way in, but didnt feel any on the water. Definitely hit some on the way home though.

Can't wait to get back.

Sooeat.

Fishin' is the mission.
To fish, or not to fish, . . . those are the answers.
