Ken (Ill fish on FS) has been trying to get me and dad out for the last week but we have canceled 2 trips due to the weather. Me and dad met Ken and Harris at 7:30 at Ken's place. Loaded the boat and off we went. the plan was to go to 100' but after 20 miles of pounding we decided to fish in the 80' water we were in. the weather man was wrong, again. Other than being tired from the long day the day before it really wasn't that bad on me or Harris but we new it was on Ken and dad. They never said anything but "keep going" when they were asked if they were alright. The 26' CS actually handled it really well. After anchoring 5-6 times we had a 140qt cooler full of fish. Mangroves, red snapper, lane snapper, red grouper, large BSB and some big grunts. The ride back in was really nice as it had calmed off and we didn't hit any rain or storms while being out. We got back to the house to find Denise had cooked a large spread that was a bonus Harris and I cleaned the fish while dad and Ken ate and traded some words. It was rough but everyone still had a great time. Thanks again Ken
Sorry, I didn't think about taking a pic of the fish until after they were already cleaned.

Re: Lanark 6/22
Great post, put me in the "Dad category". Keep running, get to some fish, and fill the box!!! They got pills for all the rest! Gonna be honest, that's the kind of trip I enjoy. Take what ole nature gives ya. 100' will always be there. BSB is as good as it gets for dinner....... and won't hurt dad's worn out back. Oh, what is a 26' CS ?
I also enjoy hooking some nice fish and handing them to someone younger. Nothing is better than "turning on" a young person to the thrill, the struggle of landing a nice fish. Those make for some of the best grins in a lifetime. Just reread your post; about no pictures, for this old fart, it's all perfectly clear and easy to see........... "Makin memories".
Does it get any better? Keep em coming. I'll lend a hand on that anchor....... once or twice in 90 degrees......... August, only once!
