Scallops and water clarity?

Post by Shoot4Fish »

Did anyone get down to St Marks this weekend to scallop? How were the numbers and how is the water clarity with all of this rain?

Saw that it looks like Lanark is doing good on numbers but never been out of there. Where to head if headed down there? How's the water clarity?

Not as concerned about great numbers but want to be able to see and have a decent time, and at least get a few.
Thanks!

Co-worker went to St. Marks Sat. They got two scallops from hours of looking from the lighthouse to the rock garden. Water was clear though.
I most image after the St. Marks bust this past weekend that you will be able to walk from boat to boat @ Lanark on the 4th. Don't tell your friends about the Lanark treasure. Lets keep to ourselves.

I don't care what folks say, I was at Lanark yesterday and the water was very cloudy and there were hardly any scallops (plus sharks were running rampant)..... Did I mention the stingrays, oh the stingrays, they were more numerous than the scallops. Oh yeah, there were acres of jellyfish too..............Just saying, folks prolly need to head over to St. Joe for their own good.

And didn't I hear something about the Lanark sewer plant releasing all of it's contents into the bay :smt004

I went to Crystal River this weekend. The water was clear and the scallops were plentiful.

I all seriousness we did pretty good out of St Marks today. They are there. Never tried Lanark for the llops, but haven't needed to yet.

In all honesty, I did hear there were "some" scallops at St. Marks but the folks said they had to tend to quite a few sharks as well.

Now back to Lanark, the sharks at St. Marks are definitely better than the sewage filled flats over at Lanark. Somebody said a BP tractor trailer carrying oil overturned and smegged up the area. Now we can get back to blaming BP for the lack of scallops... :smt005
