Bomber all the way. Long shank and hold any soft plastic on.... Little cheaper than the rest too.

SPRO for me 3/4 of the time... but more often midshore to offshore than inshore... though if the right species cruises by, I've sure been known to throw it in 4' to 8' waters too! :smt045 :-D

That is a great reason not to buy them.

Mission for me . The shape of the head keeps the hook up when on the bottom, not on its side. JT, please don't tell me they use gamakatsu hooks also.

Unless he has changed hooks,he uses Gamakatsu.
I spoke with him when he started his company and he told me that.
At the time I warned him about a personal experience with the hooks.
He said he would take my warning under advisement.
That is all I know.
I use and LIKE the Slayer.
I have not had a hook failure with them.
Whatever he uses is sharp and strong and with a good paint job.
He designed his own jig heads because he is a pro tour redfisherman.
At the time he said he could not find a jig head that suited him.
He did say that the Bass Assassin jig head was what he was using and liked it But wanted a head to hold the Gulp on the hook better.
The 2 offset points below the head do what he wanted.
Gulp or plastic has to be torn off to get it off the hook.

We produce an excellent jig for using Gulp baits. "Woody's Super Jig" is a bullet head jig built on a heavy black nickel Mustad hook and will hold any fish. The collar has 4 barbs, one on each side. A little tough to get on, but once there it's not coming off. It's the only jig I use when I'm down that way fishing. Fish can whack it and pinfish can peck, but it'll stay put. The black nickel hook is also great for saltwater cause it won't corrode or rust.

Has anybody ever tried a Rockport Rattler jig head? A few of the guys in the kayak forum swear by them.

Homemade -Flat Eye Arky Mold ARK-3-AFC
Use hook recommended (Mustad 32798) and pro-tec powder paint
Block off weedguard hole (grind pin down)
Can use different hook sizes rather than recommended - example 5/0 on 1/4 oz head
