I've cancelled 4 weekends in a row. To much rain to make the trip worth it. Never seen anything like it.

With almost 4' high tide today and tomorrow, I can bet there may be a little water in the parking lot....

WE HAVE HAD 36 1/2 INCHES OF RAIN IN THE LAST 24 DAYS, GOT ANOTHER 2 1/2 INCHES THIS AFTERNOON. CORN IN THE FIELDS ARE BEGINING TO FALL OVER AND THE COBS ARE DEFORMING. PEANUTS HAVE BEGUN TO GET MOLD AND I HEAR THE COTTON FARMERS ARE HURTING ALSO. WATCH OUT FOR SOME $4 GAS IN THE NEXT SEVERAL WEEKS.

I witnessed the Econfina rain firsthand today. Parking lot was QUITE wet when we loaded up. Few more inches, think I could have loaded the Panga without even bringing the truck around to the ramp. :o

Lots... and lots... and then LOTS more.

I knew better, but was heck bent and determined to put an old college bud and his son on some bruisers... well, I put them on bruisers of sorts. Ride out was ok in 2' to 3's... but as we readied to fish that changed to 4'... then front winds pushed 5's... and best guess is peaks were between 6's & 7's. Versus risking exposing my stern to the waves we just stayed anchored through the worst of it. Was afraid that even if I ran shallow, if as bad inshore we might risk dropping the boat against bottom on big wave troughs. Waited to waves somewhat calmed back to 4' level and rode them back through wall of rain.
