Window Hardware

Post by HewesMan »

One of my windows that has the tilt in feature has a broken window tilt latch. I tried all of the usual places (HD, Ace, even google) and have failed to find one that is the same size of the one that I need to replace.

Does anyone know someone locally who can match up the parts so I can get some replacements?

Try Gulf Coast Lumber, they can find most anything "and may have the part at the old store in Woodville"

Do you have any idea what kind of window it is? Aluminum or vinyl? Lowell's can definitely fix it but if you know the manufacturer it would be easy to repair yourself as they generally snap in place.

I have not looked at all fo the windows to see if I can find the manufacturer but on a few there is no sticker there anymore.

I will try and look at the others before tomorrow and see if I can't find some type if identifying name on one of them. I think that I will have to take the latch to someone and have them do measurements on the existing one and find a suitable replacement. I have done all of the looking online that I can up to this point. Too hard to find an exact replica with all of the measurements that are involved and especially not knowing the manufacturer.

Thanks for a few places and people to try. I will make some calls on Monday.
