Me and my 9 year old son Travis put the TC II in at the Fort about 4:30 Friday evening. There was a 10-12 mph wind from the south that was creating some whitecaps at the mouth of the rever and beyond. We cruised out to the bird rack, dropped the anchor, and I put Ttravis on the pinfish. He caught a bunch of pinfish and along with them he caught a tincy wincey speckled trout (maybe 4" long) I have never seen a trout that small in my entire life. He also cought a 12" remora, and a 11" catfish. Most of my time was spent showing Travis how to cast, and baiting and tying hooks. With my pole, I put one of the pinfish under a bobber behind the boat. While I was helping travis with his pole, something large bent my pole over and ran off with my steel leader.
At sunset, we decided to head back to the Fort. We could see lighting veins over Tallahassee and hear the rumbling thunder. Through the whitecaps, it was a rought & wet trip back to the fort. I shoud have brought my diving mask. I had a beach towel to dry off between sprays, but after the second or third spray, my towel had blown overboard and was long gone. The old TC II put on another flawless performance.
Travis said it was his "best fishing trip ever".
I hope we have many many more tgether.
