Well....if my cooler or casting platform is melting, I've got bigger problems than worrying about how long my ice is going to keep. :-D

I think I am going to try a cooler made by the Canyon company. I saw one West of here earlier this week and was impressed. They run about $100 cheaper than the Yeti for the 50 qt. size.

On a side note, I got a call from a friend who was one of the folks I mentioned in this thread who had a Yeti stolen out of his truck on St. George Isl. The Franklin Co. Sherriff's office actually recovered his cooler for him. If any of you have had a Yeti stolen in the St. George area, you may want to call the Sherriff's office and see if it has been recovered. There was some folks down there targeting Yeti's and Shimano fishing reels.
