Scope Rings & Base

Post by red_yakker »

OK, I need some advice. I have an older Winchester Model 100 Semi-auto .243. It's dang near impossible to find a scope base to fit this particular model. I wanted Leupold rings and base, but Leupold doesn't make a base for this gun. So far, I have found 2 brands that make a base that fits, Redfield and Weaver. They both got 5 stars on www.midwayusa.com . Which would you choose? OR are there any other brands out there that make a base for a Winchester 100 you'd recommend?
Thanks,

Redfield is made by Leupold. Weavers are good too. Either would work. Then buy Leupold rings to put on the bases. I just had a similar situation with my Sporterized Smith-Corona Springfield 1903A3. I had to use Weaver Bases and Leupold Rings. Haven't sighted it in yet but it mounted up good! Good Luck!!

Weaver has made good products for a long time. I wouldn't have any hesitation putting Weaver base and rings on a rifle of mine.
