Ga. Boaters to be fined for late registration renewal

Post by wevans »

FYI
Georgia Department of Natural Resources officials say boaters will face fines later this month if they fail to renew their boat decals on time.

Department spokeswoman Melissa Cummings says boaters who don't renew expired registration decals before Oct. 24 will be charged a $10 late fee.

Figured they did it on boats already. They dang sure do on car tags. In TX we had until the end of the month when your tag expired. When I moved back home to GA I didn't realize they went on your birthday. Even though my tag sticker said it was good thru Dec., when I went in on about the 20th, I got charged a fine for each day after my birthday on the tenth. I think it added about $15 or $20.
