Is O-tower state or federal?

Post by bsflynn23 »

Dumb question, is O-tower in state or federal waters? What about K-tower?

I want to hit some more snapper this weekend so I'm just trying to figure out how far I can get out to without getting busted for being out of state water.

Using Google earth for measurement purposes, sure looks to be federal... if wrong, I'm sure someone who fishes the west side will correct me (I fish almost entirely out of St. Marks/Ecky)

Both towers are in federal waters. The fed/state line is marked on the NOAA chart so if you have a chart plotter gps you can check any location either before the trip or while out fishing.

Easy to tell. There will be a sign like this if they are in Federal waters.

By the way, google for government closed sign images. Now, looking at the photos, where did all of these CUSTOM signs come from on such short notice if this shutdown was not planned a long time ago? Just how could have all these signs have been designed, printed, and shipped in such short notice? Especially under a government purchase order, which takes forever to get done anyway!

Just food for thought
