maps?

Got one of those maps of the area that generally shows the depths,
hazards, buoys and etc. Not sure what they all mean yet, but is there any thing out there that might show you bottom contours, structure, other than
those $$$.00 GIS maps and software I keep finding, or just pay my dues
and find the spots as I go....?

If you have a Garmin GPS, it would probably be worth your money to invest in the Mapsource Blurchart software. It's about as detailed as you'll find.
What was I supposed to do today?

Just like TC Said...
I saw the PC interface last night and it is highly detailed
with topographic contour lines with depth indicators, channel markers along with zooming & plotting functions. I'm going to get it when the funding is available... It will be money well spent.

I also like the maptech ocean navigator, I have both it and the blue charts for downloading into my gps. The maptech is a bit more user friendly however its maps are not downloadable to a garmin mapping gps or plotter. The waypoints and routes are however. Garmins blue charts are cheaper, @ $100 if you look on the net, but you only get a limited coverage area. I unlocked the bigbend area and it covers from the Chandeulear Is. in Louisanna all the way to Tampa bay.
