Saturday

We are finally going to have a pretty Saturday and the seas are going to be horrible! I think I will go anyway and fish some of JT's river holes.

Yep. Been looking forward all week to tomorrow and been worried about the winds. I think the last time I checked NOAA is calling for 15-20 with rough seas and choppy inshore. Not what I was hoping for.

Well, we went. Launched about 11:00 at Shield's to a pretty stiff wind. Decided to stay in the river and fish the oyster bars. First stop produced a keeper trout and red. Not a bite the rest of the day. Great day to be on the water, boat/motor ran well and brought home a little dinner. Not sure if the winds were as strong as forecasted, but happy with my choice to stay in the river.

I got lucky and got invited dove hunting near Bainbridge. Man it was cloudy and very windy! It was supposed to get up to almost 80 but it felt like the mid to low 60's all afternoon on the open peanut field. It seemed to mess up the birds too but we got a few and had a blast.

I was wondering if you went FRP. I'm glad I went - not so much for the amount of fish - more so because I haven't been out in a while. It was good to be on the water.
