LOL Thanks H&M... Well this ole salt has been hunting So. Georgia for about 5 years now and have ONE muzzle loader 6 point to show for my efforts, got the kitchen pass and give Rhett a shout out to see if we were still a go for a trip to Baker County to hunt the family land, we settle things and I meet him at his house in Pelham Friday night, so we are only a short drive from the farm, get up, drive over tot the property, get put in my ground blind and told good luck by Rhett, get to about 9:25 and the coffee is doing a number on my bladder and I see there is a nice big piss bottle in the blind so i take full advantage and of course just as I'm at that full stream moment I see a deer trotting right to left out the south facing window I try to compose myself get the gun up, zip up and find the deer in the thick with the scope, no luck on the latter, sit down and look around then hear blowing UP wind from east of me and I'm thinking no way they are smelling me as i'm downwind from the snort and where I saw the deer. Then I look east and there is a big doe starting to walk right toward the blind obviously away from what ever spooked her or she sented gives me nothing but a facing shot right in the brisket dropped her within 20 yards. I figure out later that it was Rhett sittin on a chair some 75 yards away that she was blowing at. I sit back and compose and decied i'll just sit until 10 giving the deer time to rest before calling on Rhett to come help. I turn the other way and start scoping a movement far to the west but it was half way up a tree realized it was a big fox squirrel I just start scoping the 2o-70 yards out to no avail, rest the gun fora minute look around to see all things are situated in the blind as I was just moving around a bit after the first deer shooting and look back out the window to see a deer standing broad side right where I had been looking not 15 seconds earlier. get he gun on the rest cross hairs set flip the safty off and it goes CLICK!! Oh sheet! the deer imediately turns righ at me and knowing its about to bolt I squeeze off another round into deja vu right into the front center, this one falls 40 yards away and i'm just amazed 5 years and these are my first two deer with rifle and they come 15 minutes apart!

Have to Thank Rhett and the good lord for making it all happen. Thanks to all my hunting buddies for the encuragement to continue my efforts while they seeminly blast away at deer throughout the years and certainly blessed to have an understandigng wife and family that allows me the pleasure of time in the woods.

I was about to give the short version for you Ranaman. :D
I was really glad the hunt went so well. Lord knows you've sure helped me in fishing and I was glad I could provide the opportunity for you. It was a really interesting morning. I started off the morning seeing 3 deer but didn't want to shoot through some brush and was hoping they would head on down to Joe who was actually about 175 yards away. They evidently went on the other trail and skirted wide from him. I had put the chair there in the dark and realized I was too close to the trail so after those wandered on by I got up and moved back about 50 yards farther. I don't know if it was the same fox squirrel but I had a big fat one that really didn't like me being there and climbed all around me cussing the strange new bush that was watching him.
About 30 minutes later two deer came in on me through some trees and I didn't see them until they were on my right side. I didn't want to try to turn around knowing I'd make too much noise and movement since they were only about 40 yards from me by this point. As the two got behind me the un-camoflauged back of the chair was evident and they were directly down wind. They let out a couple of curiosity blows and stomped and head bobbed at me. The bigger one blew and bounced off towards Joe with the little one in tow and relaxed back to a walk. A couple of seconds later Joe made a great shot on the big one when she got to his stand. It wasn't long until the other deer he shot came from the south and stopped in front of the tent blind.
During all this the little one with the first doe he shot had wandered back towards me. It was too small to shoot so I had fun watching it feed and it eventually wandered right up to me getting about 10 or 15 yards from me. It couldn't figure out what I was but I got the head bob and stomp treatment for about 3 minutes. It tried the feed then suddenly look sideways deal a few times but I wasn't moving and even made sure it never saw my eyes wide open blink. After 3 or 4 minutes it decided I wasn't a threat and fed right there beside me as it slowly wandered back to the trail and up the fence line out of sight.
