Vehicle Weight fees at Florida DMV?

Post by Steve Stinson »

I have an employee who just renewed his divers lic. He said the DMV asked him to sign and affidavit stating how often he pulled a trailer, or hauled payload, and the weight of the trailer / cargo. He was charged an extra fee based on his answers to the questions. He drives a 2 wd Chevrolet 1/2 ton pickup. Have any of you heard of this?

Sounds like a new tax to me...

Didn't 't have to sign anything, but asked similar questions. My f-150 is over 5k pounds so had to be registered differently. I renew in dec instead of my birthday. Registration fees change based upon my answers
