I am shocked. Why Abraham Lincoln said in a speech: "the internet is the only way to get accurate information".SCALAWAG wrote:SEEMS TO BE A LOT OF RUMORS ABOUT THE MARINA, I SPOKE TO THEM MONDAY OF THIS WEEK AND THEY SAID THAT THEY WERE NOT RAISING THE LAUNCH FEE AND HAD NO INTENTIONS OF DOING THAT. THEY ALSO SAID THEY WERE INSTALLING NEW DOCKS AT THE LIFT AND IN THE CANAL AND THAT THE MOTEL AND COTTAGES WERE GETTING UPDATED. I DID NOT ASK ABOUT THE CAMPER SPOTS, BUT I WONDER IF THEY WERE ASK TO MOVE SO THE DOCKS COULD BE REPLACED.?? CHARLIE NORWOOD IS THE NEW MANAGER, SEA HAG IS LEASING THE MARINA FROM FOLEY TIMBER COMPANY WHO IS THE OWNER.

Capt. Richard McDavid from Sea Hag / Keaton Beach Marina will be at our first meeting of the year for NFGFC on Feb 6th at Beef's. I'm sure he can answer all of these questions for us...

I can vouch for the fact that lot rent/fees have went up. A friend mine has already pulled out and been blessed with finding a condo on the water in Panacea with two large boat slips. He was able to buy with a payment about half what lot rent would have cost under new owners. Also a lot closer to snapper and grouper, so saving on fuel too! God is good.

The lift is the same. You can actually buy gas there now and they have bait. I know right. Bait! Store even has gulps and get this.........fishing line on the shelves. Past few years leaves nothing but room for improvement
Re: Keaton Beach Marina
I pulled my camper out of there soon after the switch. I was paying $250 per month, which included water and electric. When I was informed of the management change, I knew prices were going up and as little as I get over there, it wasn't worth it.
