Low Tide at the mouth :/

Low tide of 0.5 at 0830 this Sunday morning and if the wife and I choose Ecky(which I like) over Keaton,will we have enough water at 1000 hrs at the tripod? High of 2.6 ft around 1430-1500 hrs. How bout it,for my tide readers?? I can drive further to Keaton and feel less confidant,although I've seen good reports and tossing that around.....or just keep the lil Wahoo on plane and chance it? At 10 am, the tide will be at 1.6 ft. You should be fine. Anything over 1.5 is a go....

You need to head back in about 5 pm.....

I've ran into this questionable equation many times about Econfina and I know a strong wind direction will/can play at major part with anything below 1.5 ft. I love Lanark and Keaton also where tide is not so much a factor but I'm pressed for time and Ecky ramp is a good bit closer to the doorstep in Coolidge. Thanks,again.

Right now, there is also a large flow of fresh water in the river. This helps keep the levels a little above what the tides predict.

You got a south wind with 1 foot or less seas for Sunday. Have a good day! Catchum!!!

I have been at the mouth of the Econfina in a little john boat at a minus .8 foot tide. If you saw what I saw, you may think twice about that "letting it fly"...

Redbelly,I believe you have me confused but that's alright. I'm from Moultrie and now live in Thomas Co. And the wife and I do happen to be headed to La in 2 weeks. Fishing in Lafitte/Barataria w/ Theophile Bourgeois on May 8-9. One year anniversary trip and really looking forward to it. And Dubble.....I know better,I tense up every trip,stay in the middle and hope for the best.

Depends. I have seen it too low at 1.4. The mouth is tricky. If you see a lot of the oyster bar to the left of the tripod, watch out.

You are correct. Just before you get to the tripod, bear left. You will see a PVC pipe sticking up. Go LEFT of it. Bear due south for at least a half mile if it is 1.5 or lower. To the left of due south, there a couple of nasty oyster bars inside of 1/2 mile. If you bear right after the tripod, be very careful! There are some isolated rocks out to about 1 mile that have quite a few busted foots to their name. I have personally seen two! I have seen those rocks out of water totally on a - .8 foot tide. There is also some very shallow sandy bottom to the right of the tripod.
