Alligator Point May 10-16

Post by newboy »

Ok I am going to Alligator Point this Saturday to stay for a week. I figure I would ask for any pointers on what is biting and where in the area. I figure all the rains we have been getting have everything a little tricky. Thanks for any advice.

Outside of Lanark Reef in 3'-4'. Try the transitions from cloudy to clear water for trout. Also any cuts or depressions in the bottom near the reef should hold reds.

I have never fished west of Ochlocknee bay. Is the reef visible/easy to find? Also, how is the Spanish bite?
Thanks,

We will be going down Monday the 12th with the boat.

Where are you staying? What size boat do you have? These things make a BIG difference where you can fish there.

Also, where will you be putting in at and keeping the boat overnight?

My boat (19 foot Sea Chaser)will be at the end of the canal from where you are, about 3 lots down. We are planning to go out Tuesday at this point. We will be arriving Monday around noon. We are across the beach road (on beach side) in a Cabin with two white wagon wheels in drive. The dock owner is a friend, and we use his dock at the end of the canal. I will look you up when we get there.

Dubble, I apologize for not contacting you. We found everything just fine and ran to the end of the point and fished the mainland side for a while. Caught two short reds no trout. I may try to push out to dog island tomorrow. Have too many people on the boat right now to leave the bay.

Good deal

We will be there around noon tomorrow. We may not make the grouper run Tuesday like we planned, seas forecast to be 3 to 4 feet, occasionally 5ft. That is a no go for me, so we may just trout fish Tuesday and do the grouper run Wednesday.
