Best Place to buy bait.
Wanted to see where everyone buys their bait from. Ran into a situation where we had to wait for the bait store to open and want to be prepared for this weekend. Any one buy in bulk?
I don't know when I'm gonna catch my next fish but I know when I do it's gonna be awesome!

Also what we are fishing for. Be careful if you trout fish. What they like today, tomorrow it will likely be another style, color or size. I have a friend who had a RED HOT day on a bait with trout, he stocked up like $60.00 worth and they never want'ed that bait again.
…but, to answer your question. I find the best prices in mom & pop stores in Taylor County. They beat the socks off the big chain stores, are more knowledgeable, more helpful and friendlier.

Typically I looking for offshore stuff. LY, Spanish sardines and Cigar Minnows. Occasionally the BallyHoo and ofcourse squid. Typically fishing for grouper snapper kings cobia etc. Does Jerry's carry this stuff? I've never had any problems finding this stuff at Crums but would like to find it in the St. Marks area. Appreciate any input.

All who get their shrimp from the same guy, and aren't always open when you're ready.Salty Gator wrote:In st marks I believe your options are Jerries, Shields and probably the shell island fish camp.
I wish Shields would be open earlier on major fishing days (ie Rock The Dock, we had 6 boats waiting for them to open up at 7am, one worker showed up, but without the keys. The doors finally didn't open until 715 that morning.

And he uses the profits made off enabling recreational anglers to pay legal fees to fight the gill net ban. Never will be able to understand that crazy contradiction.neckmoe wrote:I've never had any problems finding this stuff at Crums but would like to find it in the St. Marks area. Appreciate any input.

And Ronald Fred is still probably a better man than most on here....silverking wrote:And he uses the profits made off enabling recreational anglers to pay legal fees to fight the gill net ban. Re: Best Place to buy bait.
So do thousands and thousands of volunteer Floridians who worked tirelessly to pass the constitutional amendment to ban gill and entanglement nets. It was 20 years ago, so many on here don't know or forgot how bad it once was and how good it has become--despite the growing pressure on inshore stocks. And another reminder: the amendment passed by 72 percent majority, one of the largest political mandates ever in the history of the state.
