The minimum size red, in my opinoin should be 22 inches, can't see killing a fish smaller because the yield on a redfish is similar grouper. Even this 24 inch fish is "just" enough for two portions. An 18 inch red, will not yield enough for one person.. Just my $.02. .

An 18" redfish and a couple of sides of cheesegrits, hush puppies and coleslaw is more than enough for most people....just my .02...plus a glass of sweet tea !! :smt004 maybe 2 18" redfish

Agreed. I have made dinner for 2 1/2 with one 18-20in red many many times. I don't even keep reds over 24inches really....every once in a while in the winter if the freezer is getting low...
