Lighthouse 8/6

Post by chris.harris388 »

Fished the lighthouse area from 8-12. Started in 3-4 ft of water with some short trout, sharks, and baitfish. Moved to the edge of a sandbar with some good grass and found a few more shorts with one 21'' trout. While fishing that spot I saw a spinner shark jump out of the water, that was neat. With the slow bite there other than all the pinfish taking all of our live small shrimp we moved to some deeper water. Caught 5 keepers ranging 15''-18'' in a matter of 45 minutes then the bite died again. Ended the day with a quick dip in the water at the sand bar then headed home. Not a bad day for as hot as it was and still was better than working.

Catch some of those pinfish and float one behind the boat under a cork. Or is the floating grass bad?

We have tried that the last few times and a shark is always on it in a matter of two minutes. It pretty much just became a waste of time.
