Flounder Gigging
Looking for some areas to go flounder gigging. Don't have a boat so was just going to wade with lights. Live in Tallahassee so within 2 hours would be great. Heard the Carrabelle beach was a good spot?

I never tried floundering there, but when I lived in Tallahassee, we'd wade-fish and canoe at Wakulla Beach. I would imagine the floundering would be pretty decent there, and it's well under two hours from Tallahassee.

Turkey Point Shoal- low tide-1 hour before the tide change. Be sure to shuffle your feet. Lots of rays.

That's going to be tough(probably impossible) without a boat.2true wrote:Turkey Point Shoal- low tide-1 hour before the tide change. Be sure to shuffle your feet. Lots of rays.

Bottoms Road in Panacea. Mashes Sands area. St Marks Lighthouse. Wakulla Beach. Carrabelle along 98. Shell Point. The dirt landing on Hwy 98 at Alligator point or the landing inside of Alligator Point.
I've never walked these areas, but they've all produced flounder. Bottom can be kinda muddy at times and probably not much fun to walk in. I would try to invest in some kind of boat to get out of the water. Even a 10' boat with trolling motor is better than walking in ankle deep mud.
I bought my first lights from this guy. Several ways to rig them up whether walking or in a boat.
