Trout bite was on around then(probably missed most of it) and off at about 10pm. Caught 2 keepers(17and18") 5 or so shorts(just barely).
Sailcat on a live pinfish . few lady fish. and hooked up with 2 cobia.. lost 2 cobia.
I noticed a large blacktip.. unbelievably large in about 4' of water near my bait. I kept an eye out as I wasn't interested in tangling with him. He had other plans and bolted at my bait.. Quick reel and hooked a short cobia off his tail. I was too distracted by the biggest blacktip and possibly the biggest shark I've seen. He had to be 7'.
After hanging around trying to fish in tough conditions on a slack tide I turned in at about 1pm.
Thanks for the report. Sure beats workin. Those blacktips are a blast on light tackle. Keep at it and you will see sharks in shallow water much larger than 7'.
Catholic girl pray for me, you’re my only hope for heaven

It was a good time.
I've seen bulls that big or bigger but never a blacktip. After looking at some pictures i'd say I might have underestimated his size and peg him close to or over 8'.
Yesterday, we got chased bt storms and anchored briefly inside long bar, just off Shell Point. While there we were visited by an about 8 ft. tiger shark, and he was the better part of the length of my 15 ft. boat. Couldn't see him well, but the stripes were unmistakable. Surprised to see that, there.
