A unique website dedicated to fishing information from Florida's Northern Big Bend. This includes the area from the Econfina River west to the Apalachicola River
Fished the refuge today from 11:00AM - 5:00PM - started out slow (got 1 18" trout on the first cast and then nothing for a few hours) but ended up with a topwater bite - got 5 upper slot trout in about 45 minutes and missed a few more. Also added a chunky 20" trout on a clouser. Used a kayak for the first time in 10 years today and really liked being afloat again.
THOSE ARE SOME NICE TROUT, I ALWAYS FISH THAT BAR EVERY TIME I FISH THE FLATS AND IT GENERALLY GIVES UP A FEW NICE FAT TROUT AND A NICE RED EACH TIME I TRY THAT BAR.

Thanks, Pa - I've caught fish every time I've fished Long Bar. I hope this cold snap doesn't chase them off until spring.
