watersnake trolling motor

been needing a new trolling motor for a few months, the one i had was a motorguide from 2003 12 volt system
what i am asking is anybody out there had any dealings with these brand of motor it is for salt water price is $500.00

Anxious to hear replies as I have a dead motor guide on mud boat I've got to replace.
It may be that my sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

After seeing your post I called a dealer close to me. The prices were good but for what it is worth he said he recommends Motor Guide or Minn Kota. They are a service center for all 3 and according to him parts can be an issue for the Watersnake motors. I guess it boils down to good pricing vs good service. He did not comment one way or the other about performance only about parts.

thanks for the information Pastorterry good service is always big in my book over price , i had heard some bad thing about Motor Guide, i was looking for other options

Keep in mind that Watersnake is an Australian company. Not that that is bad or good, just the parts thing and logistics can be an issue.

I pilot all the way. Controls speed and direction when on autopilot and cruise control. You fish it drives. Minnkotas have the best customer service too. I have fished them for over 20 years. I have an 80 pound Riptide st with Ipilot now. I can set the cruise/autopilot down an oyster bar and cast all around it without worrying about the motor. If I find fish I can push the anchor button and it holds me in place.
