the reels at that price is agood deal. they are on the high end in the fishing reel and a good well made product. the noise you here may be a bearing on the handle side. I have work a few, what I have seen is there weak spot . other than bearing the reels are bullet proof. if you need a local give me acall . mike flowers reel repair 926-2120 25.00 each labor

Thanks, Mike. I am just looking to move these. The only 665 on eBay is listed at $299 and I see them generally go around $250. So I figured I'd ask less for mine factoring in the need for some service.

The Avets are the 8:1 model that was produced in a very short run about 10 years ago. I believe they are the fastest production reels ever made. They were specifically designed for kings and wahoo but people started lining them with braid and jigging with them. It was blowing them up while under warranty so Avet said enough and cut them off. They perform excellent when used as intended.
