Pond 9/25/04

Post by Ken K »

Fished a couple of hours this morning, caught six bass, two 10", two 12" and two 14". They weren't interested in the usually reliable trick worm today. I ended up catching one on merthiolate, never even got a bump on black. All the rest were caught on a small, #7 floating Rapala, baby bass color.

I also caught a couple of real nice bream, bigger than your hand. One on the aforementioned Rapala and one on a Beetle Spin.

Does anyone know what a 14" bass is supposed to weigh this time of year? One of them was poor looking, so I weighed it. Between 3/4 and 1 pound.

I think there is too much cover for the forage in my pond.
