Should I be able to put out at the Fort real nice with my Chevy s10. The S10 is only a 4 banger and has 2 wheel drive. I would hate to put the boat out then not get the truck back up LOL.
“Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticize them, you are a mile away from them and you have their shoes.”
My boat is a little bigger than yours and I am pulling it with a toyota 4 banger! No problem. Your truck should be rated to pull at least 5000lb, and your bumper (just guessing) 2000lb. I get in and out at the fort with out any problems, even on a super-low tide. The lower/submerged part of the ramp has a coat of really slick alge that could pose a traction problem if you are on a negative tide.
I'd worry more about stopping the truck without sliding at the ramp, more than getting the boat out. Had an S-10 blazer once. Also had a Bass Tracker 16 foot fiberglass bass boat with a 90 hp Johnson. Had a couple times it didn't want to stop when I backed down a steep, wet, boat ramp. Almost launched the whole rig a couple of times before I got smart and bought a full size truck.
