I really like the Bob's Machine Shop Stabilizer, it works just like a doel-fin, is made out of heavy aluminum and has two small rudders to improve steering cost around the same money also http://www.bobsmachine.com/

I installed trim tabbs on my bass boat last year...to get the bow down while running. They work....but I'm not too inthused about them now. They keep the bow down while running but...when in rough water...like last Friday at Aucilla....I wanted to trim my outboard so the bow would rise up and keep the spray off me and my partner...couldn't do it. It took the extreme up postion to raise the bow...then I couldn't make any speed. We got soaked everytime we moved.
They work great in calm water.
Put one (dole fin) on my 90 hp Johnson about four years ago. It helps you get up on plane faster. It did slow my boat down by about 3-4 MPH. It caused a rooster tail to spray back up on the motor. It also caused my bow to ride low enough that it soaked me every time there was a little wind. I took it off last year. My boat planes fast enough, and I don't get sprayed as bad without it. Won't ever put it back.
