Horseshoe Beach / May 2nd

Post by mLuMaN83 »

It's heating up. Good sized reds were plentiful on the bars. They were feisty as well. On the way out starting the day, I witnessed a gentleman net in about a 35 inch red on the outside of the channel rocks.

Trout were active as well although nothing of keeper size. I was mainly getting used to my new boat so lines weren't in the water as long as usual. I will be heading back out tomorrow to really beat up on the bars. Report back tomorrow.

Nice picture and a good report. Looks like the water is still stained.

Yeah, the water is still a bit murky but it seems to be slowly clearing up. We did OK... not great. Lost a solid 22 inch plus red right at the boat, took home an 18 inch sheep. Many under slot reds and trout.

Still trying to get the inshore thing dialed in. I've been fishing for a long time but pretty new to inshore so every time I go out, I try to take home some knowledge. Im getting to know a few locals in the area and getting some good "local pointers here and there.

I'll be heading back out weekend after next when the tides are favorable again.
