Scallops were few and far between last weekend in St Joe. i hopped in and looked at a few pockets that usually hold plenty in the back of the bay and only saw a few, hopefully when i look again tomorrow there will be blue eyes everywhere! I wish scallop season would hold off another few weeks so we could continue to fish without the crowds, Joe has been great lately on most all species of fish from inshore to off...

I did a little recon today with my family and we spotted while snorkeling dozens of scallops in few feet of water at St. Marks!

Glad to hear St. Marks has some again. I saw one small one in front of Live Oak Island two weeks ago. If the river don't flood we should have a good year. I hope to go around July 4th.

I can't find it online... I searched Scallop and only found posts from 2014

Hey all - Hit up St. Marks yesterday hoping to collect my scallop limit but ended up going home empty-handed (at least there wasn't anything to clean!). Super low visibility and lots of chop - we checked a few spots and decided that it wasn't worth it since we had to practically put our nose on the bottom to see anything. We just went straight out from the lighthouse, about a mile or so (kayaking). At low tide we were in 4-5 ft of water. Maybe that wasn't deep enough?
I'd appreciate hearing how other people fared this weekend - and if anyone had luck at St Marks, any tips?
Cheers!

You need to go 5 miles east of the lighthouse.
There were 100 boats out there Saturday. Not thick but enough for a meal.

We also loaded up on them at Keaton today. It was very crowded but for the most part the ramp traffic flowed better than expected. Had a fwc officer pay me a quick visit because my dive flag slid down while we were in the water. He was very polite and didn't bother checking anything (not even licenses), just asked me to put the flag higher. He did ask Is we had noticed anyone acting up or operating recklessly. It was clear that his main goal was keeping everyone out there safe which was good to see.
