Depth finder/GPS

Post by Fishdawg »

I need to replace my console mounted depth finder on my Bass Tracker. I mostly fish Econfina/Aucilla area. Any suggestions on a new unit under $500? It seems Lowrance has better imaging, but Garmin has better GPS. Are there any competitive Hummingbird combos that are worth buying?

If you want a Humminbird, I have one I will sell you. I am still using it right now on my ride, but the Humminbird software does not mesh well with my gps points management software, so I would rather have a Garmin.

if oyu already have a transducer that will work with it, the Garmin EchoMap 54dc comes with Bluechart G2 maps and is right at your limit.

Actually, someone borrowed my boat, and my Hummingbird transducer was missing. I was thinking about a new Lowrance unit anyway.
