Wacissa boat ramp

Post by Redbelly »

Does anyone know how far apart the poles are at the launch?

Need to see if my boat will fit. :D

I think they may have taken them down. I was there last Friday and they have made some changes to the ramp and park area. There is now a dock on one side of the ramp, white sand on the swimming area and beach and some rock /rip-rap installed to prevent erosion. I don't remember the poles being there. That's the good news.

Now for the rest of the story - Depending on the time of day you show up, there may be the following in your way: Large groups launching kayaks, teenagers in pickups doing doughnuts in the parking lot, at least four dogs of various shapes and sizes, small children darting in and out of the launch area, and 400 lb. women in string bikinis.

The ramp was relatively calm when I arrived early last Friday morning, but things got a little more interesting in the afternoon.
