In flip flops :o ......

I have to admit that I have been fishing every day this week, except Monday.....Today, a coworker and I went to my new haunt to catch a few pins for our offshore charter tomorrow.....

We load up on 30 or so pins..he calls it and leaves....

I stay behind to fish a small red/white chugg bugg....

Casting around...working my way to the point...Since I'm in flip flops :roll: I shuffle my feet and watch the bottom....The plug is 4-5 feet from me...I am taking a step and watching the bottom :roll: .....

A 18-20 inch trout decides to take the plug....Great huh :-D :roll:

If you ever watch a bigger trout when there hooked they try to rub the pain away.....

Well what's in the water near the trout?

Two sticks called Chalks legs :smt100

In a split second I'm happy, big trout and the next I'm in pain....

Thought of the Monster shark tourney run through my mind :smt087 ....

Luckily the trout came off and the barbs didn't sink into the skin....

Note to self,

Self buy some hip waders, kevlar :o :lol:

I fished some more, but I kept thinking of Sonny's hand and the Monster Shark Tourney and left......

I seem to recall you wore a pair of these one time with a little halter top.... if ya still got em maybe they would work. :smt048Image

I never heard of anybody gettin' stuck by a speck! :o Please keep it quiet, and for sure don't remind me! I've been cruised by small sharks [even had 'em repeatedly swim up and bump my towed float, attached to me by a three ft. rope] and I know a guy that was pulled under water for a moment by what musta been a shark that took half his trout off the stringer he had tied around his waist.

I have reeled in all kindsa stuff to me, including sharks and sting rays, :-D

For me, part of the fun is not only not knowing what it is you caught, but what it is you are reeling in to yourself! :lol:

The risk is part of the fun, frankly!

But, as I said, I ain't never heard, until now, of someone gettin' stuck by a speck! :o More fun!!!??

Getting attacked by a trout, must be like getting savaged by a sheep.
I'm not sure real men would admit to such a thing. :o :o

I don't know if I'd be wadin' in flip-flops any more if I were you.

I have tried different "water shoes" in recent years and do like 'em if they have soles good enough to wear to walk on an oyster bar. Some varieties have shoe laces, and if they do you need the kind were there is a little spring-loaded lock on the laces, or you need to be sure to double knot, because you can't tie your shoe in three feet or so of water. Another thing is they need to fit snug enough so they don't get sucked off if you step in a soft bottom. Here again, it can be impossible to deal with that situation.

I have discovered that the best wading shoe is a SCUBA "bootie." Image

They are, for me, real comfortable and secure. Some have pretty good soles and I have no concern about soft bottom with these things.
