Blue Marlin Grand Championship Miss Billfish Contest

Post by silverking »

In a close vote that included several recounts and a few hanging chads, the 2015 Miss Billfish Classic was crowned last night at the Blue Marlin Grand Championship in Orange Beach.

My fellow judges and I had a difficult task...

Boats motored off a couple hours ago. You can follow the action at: http://www.thewharfmarina/bmgc

Good choice. Did she win that cooler she's standing on?

good choice. Surprised orange wasn't in the top 3. Maybe there was a talent component we missed...

Yes, she won the ORCA cooler, $750, new watch, plus tons of clothes, stay in a condo for the weekend and an upcoming photo shoot for The Wharf Boat Show.

Showboat, both bookends were strong finishers.

Tuff sledding for the judges.

Talked to Miss Billfish tonight at the weigh-in. She's one of three identical twins! :smt004 Imagine their daddy had his hands full.

She is a RN and a beautiful lady, both inside and out. She'll represent the tournament and The Wharf well.

By the way, no boats came in tonight. One blue marlin has been boated by Caribe, fishing in the Green Canyon 230 miles from Orange Beach. Another boat, Colby Jean, had been fighting a fish for hours and was still hooked up when I left.

It'll be absolutely crazy tomorrow night. We'll be streaming live from 5-10 CDT if you want to tune in. http://www.thewharfmarina.com/bmgc
