Buying a boat.

Post by nobitchin »

In need of recommendation(s) for solid Yamaha mechanic to look at 2004 150 HP outboard in or around Tallahassee. Would like to see computer hoked up to it and see data. Thanks!

I second the vote for Pete. Also - Any Yamaha mechanic can do what is called a "Purchase Check". It will likely cost you about $150 - $200, but it is worth it for the peace of mind when buying used. It is more thorough than just reading the print -out.

Good Luck - Steve

That's odd. The Evinrude on the Bayshore is a 200 and I already have a diagnostic computer printout.

Just kidding. Pete is a good man and certainly knows his way around Yammies.

Good luck with the purchase and enjoy the new ride.

Take it to Pete, but don't get in a rush. I was there today and he is BUSY. My little 25hp Yamaha 2-smoker is not terminal but it's on IV fluids and bed rest. :(

I doubt you can wait very long and still closed the deal on the used motor before somebody else buys it. If Pete can't do it, try Fred out at Parkway Marine. Also, when you go for a purchase check, try not to take it to the same mechanic that the present owner has been using.

Good Luck .
