a Colorado good morn
Our trip out here turned into something different than planned, a family member going into the hospital for a week of procedures & then an operation. all is well now, recuperation underway. I did manage to get some fishing in before our return home.
This is as close as I want to get to a moose when armed with a jackknife
Colorado river, didn't see another human all day

Glad the medical emergency worked out for the best.
Fortunate you were able to spend at least a day of vacation on the river. Beautiful scenery and nice fish.
Thanks for a "cool" report.

I was fishing in the Rocky Mtn Nat'l Park, just a few miles in from the Grand Lake side entrance.

We were out there two years ago and camped at Timber Creek campground (minus the timber) and really liked that homestead/dude ranch (Hotzwald) maybe and it was cool to be at the headwaters of a river as powerful as the Colorado. Beautiful area. Makes me want to move!

We visited some folks at that campground last year, some good fishing in the Colorado river right behind the campground but you've got to travel a bit up or down it because of the non fisher campers who walk over to swim, wade, talk etc.
That pine beetle is a real disaster. I guess it only attacks lodge pole pines. Can you imagine what it would do in SW Georgia if it attacked our pines?!

Cool pics, I've been there and always wished I had a gun when I was fishing. It's like a postcard everywhere you look.
