Keaton Boat Lift

Post by Fish Dawg »

What is the damage of the boat lift at Keaton Marina ? We were there right after it collapsed! Thank God no one was hurt and the boat on the lift wasn't damaged. It looked pretty bad.

Ouch that is going to hurt...

I've wondered many times if the cables on that lift had been replaced in recent history, I'm guessing not in a long time. Have not used the lift since early spring but glad no one was hurt and no damage to the boat involved.

We had our boat pulled out at noon and returned at 3pm to pick up our cleaned scallops and it was down. The top broke and what saved everything was the big safety cable , anchored in the ground!! I should have taken some pictures. Someone said $100 K to fix or maybe to replace.

When I was coming down the canal today they were cutting the top off with a torch so I think it's toast.

I called the marina and they said it didn't fall. Things were broken in the lift and it had to be taken apart to fix. They are working on it now and will soon have it fixed and operating again.
