Dexter russell white handle.
Get a 8" straight,
a 9" serrated,
and a 7" straight.
Should be all
you'll need.

If you already have a good sharping stone, just get a cheap knife . Keep it in tune and whenever it gets lost, breaks, gets..misplaced. Its easy to get a knew one .

I second the "Russell" motion Tom made. Best allround for the money. Thousands of commercial fishermen can't all be wrong.

I was thinking all he needs is a pocket knife.
What was I supposed to do today?

I have one of those Normark folding fillet knives. It works very well for trout and is easy to keep in a tackle bag. I hardly ever need my 7" Dexter Russell.

Angler's Pal saltwater rechargeable for heavy duty work and
Forschner for fine trimming.
Great combo!
