Abrasion Resistance
I have heard that fluorocarbon is not very abrasion resistant. What kind of leader would you tie onto a braid when
fishing the rocks east of the lighthouse?

Re: Abrasion Resistance
My understanding is that Fluro is much more abrasion resistant than mono. I like seagar also, but I'll go up to 30 when fishing around rocks, oysters or docks. 20 for everything elseMo Redd wrote:I have heard that fluorocarbon is not very abrasion resistant. Re: Abrasion Resistance
I always use fluoro for leaders but I normally use 20lb Red Label Seagar, which is made as a main line. I use it because it's much cheaper than fluorocarbon leader spools, BUT fluoro made for main line use will be softer and less abrasion resistant than fluoro made specifically for leader material.
Re: Abrasion Resistance
20-30lb seagar flouro. if you go south and catch snook, you definitely want flouro. its much more abrasion resistant.
