apparently i'm private messaging challenged....
I've got two messages in my outbox.....one i sent months ago that apparently didn't send (and explains why that person never answered my questions) and one that I sent last night that is still waiting to go. How do I make them send?

Think this link will answer your questions regarding private messages. Long story short problem isn't likely on your end but instead, messages just haven't been opened by the recipients yet.

I often check the board without being logged in, and in doing so sometimes am delayed in checking my inbox / seeing I have messages waiting. Maybe this is the same reason the folks you wrote haven't opened the messages yet.
One thing I've done (and have seen other members do) is to post a quick thread in the Off Topic session titled with the members name, like "Bman", then with brief text in the post telling the member to check their inbox, like "Check your inbox, slacker!"
