I was supposed to have a job yesterday, but it got delayed. So, I've decided to start taking advantage of days I'm not working.

I got on the water about 1030, and ran east of Grey Mare. Fished in that area all day. Water temp was over 80 degrees again. But, the water has cleared some, and I could see bottom in 4 feet. The fishing was slow. High tide was at 0525 and low at 1330. The tide was low when I got there. Still too much floating grass for topwater or suspended hard baits. You can fish them, but it's agrivating. I caught a total of 14 trout all day. Out of that, I had 7 keepers. Most were caught on a CT and jig. 2 were caught on a bottom jig. The water had started moving back in when I had to leave at 1600. I wanted to stay late and fish the rise, but had another commitment. As other people have posted, all of the fish had empty bellies. I was surprised because there is a ton of bait fish out there now.

Even with low water, if you fish slow, there are good fish to be caught.

Thanks for the report TC. Glad you were able to take advantage of the schedule change

With respect to the grass...would you say its the same, more, or less than last week? I guess it will probably depend on the winds during the week?
