Thank you! Old Guys

Post by el capitan »

Last weekend I was took my 8 yr. old fishing and we fished all day and did not get a bite. I was taking the boat out of the water and two old guys were taking theirs out too. Of course I gave them the obligatory “y’all do any good?” I fully expected them to say what I say. “No” but they didn’t. They said, "we caught about 100. Our arms are tired and we are going home.” Then I couldn’t help it I said," Where and with what?” Again, I expected them to say what I say, “In the water and with a hook.” Instead they told me exactly where they caught the fish and with what. The only thing they did not offer was to bait my hook. I put the boat back in the water and my son caught one nice trout then we went home. His mood went from down and out little fisherman to We are some of the best fishermen out there. So, thanks to some kind nameless old guys, my son thinks I can fish.

Thanks Old Guys,

El Capitan

What a wonderful testimony to two true Old Fishermen! We can all remember having those "no catch days" - it happens! Wonder what this world would be like if we all acted like those old men? Thanks for sharing your story with us.

Not all of us "Old Guys", are curmudgeons. Glad to see some nice folks on the water. Also glad your son was able to catch a good one. It will make good memories.

I'm always more than happy to share information. Love to help folks. Pull in behind my drift and catch em too. Just don't cut off my drift lol.
