Boat launch St. Marks to Carrabelle
Is there a place to have a boat launched by lift or forklift in the area between St. Marks and Carrabelle ?

The marina by Mad Anthony's at Rock landing in Panacea has one (forklift).

That's IF the right guy is working. Only one guy can do it. Call them ( really nice folks) and ask when he's working. The marina at alligator point has a lift, but they don't take them on and off trailers. Good luckDubble Trubble wrote:The marina by Mad Anthony's at Rock landing in Panacea has one (forklift).

Shields Marina in St. Marks has a forklift and operators always on duty. Not sure if it's limited to their rack storage customers or not though. Your post didn't mention whether you wanted permanent storage or one-time launch.

Thanks, I talked to the folks a Shields last week they only do it for the boats that are stored there, we always used the Marina at Keaton until Seahag screwed it up. It was the closest for us, my boat (25cc) is just to much for me and the wife to launch at a ramp (she loves to fish but can't do anything else

Roger. Thought that was the case with Shields. That is a nice ride and also a lot of glass and outboards to be shuffling solo. If you decide to keep the boat there @ Shields you have a pretty river, engines get flushed with fresh water and lots of grouper spots in close. Productive flats even for a 25-footer, normally good scalloping and the sandbar is a hot spot on the weekends. And no, I don't get paid a commission. They're just good folks who I've done business with for more than 20 years.
Good luck.

Nice looking boat.

Shell Island at St. Marks has a fork lift and I know he launched me off of my trailer with a fork lift last time I was there ... a couple of years ago.
Its a wonderful day in the neighborhood!

I talked to the folks at Shell Island too, he was not sure because of the set back of the engine bracket. My boat is or was a 1986 250 Wellcraft coastal I/O, I totally rebuilt it from the hull up into a center console.

I thought it looked a little different in that pic for a Wellcraft. Best boat I ever had was the Wellcraft V-20, which I should have never sold. If you ever decide to sell her, keep me in mind.

Re: Boat launch St. Marks to Carrabelle
Thanks for the info, I talked to the folks at Rock landing and they said no, only for there customers with stored boats
, she told me of a place in Carabelle but did not now the name of it. She also said the guy running the forklift is quitting this week. It is not such a job when the kids are home but they have only been home twice in the last two years, and I like to fish more than that. I might have to sell and down size but I don't want to

Depending on where you are trailering from, you might be just as well off leaving it at the marina. It is nice to have your boat at home so you can tinker when you want, but it's also nice to call the marina and have them gas up, add ice and bait, put her in the water and you just show up and load up. Good luck

Re: Boat launch St. Marks to Carrabelle
Sounds like there isn't anything you need in the area you specify. I know that SeaHag at Steinhatchee can handle it and the Marina at Port St. Joe.
I also think that the folks at Shields would lend you a hand launching it at the ramp. They have always been very accomodating.

Re: Boat launch St. Marks to Carrabelle
Thanks for all the help and idea's, I called Shields back and put my name on the waiting list. I am from the St. Joe area and still go back there when I can, but that is a six hour drive.
