I caught this shark off the dock of the house I rent in Shell Point last year. Being from Tennessee, my shark identification skills are lacking. Through our infinite hillbilly knowledge, and with some liquid courage, we decided it was a bull shark??? I honestly have no idea, but we cut the leader as short as possible and released it. Anybody have any ideas what kind of shark this is?
Also, it measured 7'.

Definitely a Lemon shark
Re: Shark ID Help
Thanks! ... And I'm glad I released it alive in that case! I don't have too much trouble identifying normal game fish, but sharks are definitely my weak area. (We don't see many in Chattanooga.)

Lemons have a really big adipose fin, the one behind the dorsal. It looks almost like 2 dorsal fins. Fun to catchPrice3275 wrote:Thanks! ... And I'm glad I released it alive in that case!
