Engine Tune Up Question: Wakulla Area
Good Morning Everyone:
Can anyone advise of a good local shop to get my engine serviced (just a routine maintenance, i.e. change the foot oil, lube, filter, etc). It's probably something I could possibly do, but A.) I haven't ever done it myself and B.) I like someone who is around boat motors a lot more than me to check it out in case I'm missing something.
I'd like to hit more of a Mom and Pops type of shop if possible.
Thanks.

Mikes Marine in Panecea is a mom and pop operation, and a good one at that.

Scoop Sea,
Good morning to you.
We are a family run business that has been around since 1952. Pop is 77 and I am 52. We are dealers for all five major outboard lines. We are hands on and we are the only dealership that can test run your engine in the river without having to travel for miles. We have the worlds largest test tank. We use only OEM parts and use the best oils. We use Evinrude HPF-Pro gear lube.We also have an in house fiberglass shop and can provide canvas work if needed. We are open everyday but Monday. Our service rate is $85 per hour and all of our employees are covered under Workers Comp. We also carry an extensive Liability policy if we were to damage your boat or get hurt. Please give us a try. My cell number is 566-3743 and my email is shieldsmarina@comcast.net. We want to be your dealer. We have the largest inventory of parts in the Big Bend and a nicely stocked Ships Store. With over 450 boats in storage we see it all.
Thanks you,
Brett Shields
