Meeting the scouts at the church at 6AM and we will be off. Have to go to Lanark to get my boat, then to Crums for fuel and then to St. Marks. Everybody stay safe!

It seems the fresh water from storms ten days ago pushed the scallops deep. We got a pint of meat but moved six times. Water was cloudy.

Well today was my birthday and I told my family I wanted to go scalloping. . Parked in the fort ramp lot and headed out into the beautiful morning. I love the ride out the river. It calms the soul. . We did not bring any poles today as swimming was the goal. And swim we did all over. Never did find any numbers of scallops. Just one here and there. The was a lot of particulates in the water today that made it hazy. . Trolling for scallops lol. Looking for concentrations but not finding. . We wound up with only two gallons. Heading my wife fed the gulls chips. . Got to the ramp and getting out was pretty quick. . You never know what you'll see at the ramp. This made me chuckle. . Sure did enjoy my day with my family. Not many of them left as in two years my son will be off to college. I'll enjoy it while I can.

I figured you tore them up. My rope is just a tube tow rope. It has a carabiner for the boat end and a large loop on the other. You put the loop on your arm and we have a loop tied 15' up the rope. You hold that loop with your hand it allows you to release it and pick up a scallop before the slack is gone while the boat moves at idle. We got some strange looks as we idled by.

A couple pics with the water camera. This was probably the best visibility we saw all day. . And all the scallops we found were alone. But my wife found her a friend. . Ever seen a fish burp. Lol. .

No and I moved 6 times. Of course, I have serious doubts about my spotters. They would start hollaring that they saw some, would stop and either empty shells or no joy. I got out and swam myself, so I know it wasn't just them. At the ramp, most were saying they didn't find many.

The guys had fun and I didn't have to clean, so all is well!
