Fishing rod question

Post by Redbelly »

I was looking for a new rod and came across the rods with all small eyes. Even the first big eye had a smaller eye framed in it. The guy at he tackle shop said those would cast farther than standard eyed rods.
Will they? Does anybody use these?

Yes. Look for southern custom rods on here. Dom's a builder. Does all of my rods

Do they actually cast farther as I was told?

Yes. Creates smaller waves in the line reducing the number of times the line slaps the blank. I don't like the micro guides (4mm & less) they are too small for leader splice knots. Mine are 5-6mm. It does make a difference, but so does using suffix 832 and ceramic bearings in your bait caster. Use all 3 and it's one helluva difference.

If you're looking for a new stick lookup Dom. Best rods I've ever used.
