10/15 Lanard

Post by MudDucker »

Well, came down to do some work and some fishing. Didn't end up fishing till about 2. Moved around catching shorts in most places. Finally worked an area where there was a bar rising out of deeper water and although there were short around, the old man put a nice one in the box. Reset my drift and had an even larger one hit, played him for a few and then he did something I've never had a trout do. He started greyhounding on top of the water until he got enough slack and threw my plug. I nearly cried. Ended up with a big blue, a big trout and a sand shark in the box. Gonna try again a little earlier in tomorrow.
Its a wonderful day in the neighborhood!

Wind was blowing hard when I got up to watch the sunrise and it only got worse. We left the basin around noon and headed west to try to find some sheltered water. Wasn't any, because the wind was blowing just right to blow nearly straight down the bay between dog island and land. Caught two shorts and decided to quit fighting the wind. What few boats came in while we were loading or unloading had no joy as well. But we are now 95% done with storage sheds (or cabanas as one of my son's friends named them), so I am about to kick the county and my contractor into high gear to get busy with the expansion remodeling of the main structure.
