Left the house a lot later than planned which ment I woud miss the outgoing tide, and most reports I had the best bite was on the out going. Got to the ramp at almost dead low and started fishing all the way out to the mouth. Got a bunch of shorts but not one keeper. Everyone I talked to said the loaded up on keeper trout early before the tide fell all the way out. Figured they might turn back on when some water came back in but only managed one 18" trout and my girlfriend landed two nice reds. A 26" and a 25" in about 5 min. of each other. Both were very healthy and fat. Got home a cleaned the fish and found they were full of fish. The 26"er had a 7 1/2" trout and two other fish that I couldn't make out. The 25'er had 4 of those same fish, a shrimp, and a small bait fish. Since the fish were not fully digested I can assume they were probably feeding that morming.
Nice reds. The trout we caught on Wed. had small bream-looking fish in their stomachs and one had a 7'' sand trout in his. Those big fish had been feeding well.
We fished Sunday and caught several croaker between 4 and 6 inches long. Looks like I should have put them on a hook instead of releasing them. Nicely done.
